Make Something Unreal Machinima

Scrap, an octogenarian’s companion created from a camera, led a life of innocence living within the comforts of a small photographer’s workshop. His worst fears were realized the day his creator was spiritless leaving him alone waiting by his creator’s side. Long after Scrap’s light extinguished and body rusted he was added to the garbage of everyday life. The city streets are far more dangerous than they once were.

Character Design

Far off the dense fog dissipates and an industrially skewed dilapidated city resting alone at the edge of the earth clearly emerges. Silhouettes of trash mountains littler the city just above the low lying fog. In the harsh cold world looms a single lustrous firefly cutting through the dark city alleyways. The firefly aimlessly hovers across garbage piles, and lands on a pile of junk it crawls down into a facet of junk, suddenly a beam of light splashes out of the facet and a shield flips over the socket in a blinking gesture. Out of the trash heap emerges Scrap, a childlike creature thrown together with used supplies from a camera repair store.

Innocent robot searching for a sense of belonging.

Mindless cleaner drone built to strike fear into people.

Character designs were inspired by old vintage cameras. Cameras can capture one’s soul/essence. Scrap is a prelude to a much larger feature animation our team wanted to expand on. Scrap wakes up from a desolate world, alone. Fireflies hold the key to illuminate life.

Slightly clumsy robot that follows the crowd.

Environment Designs

The environment designs were inspired by stylized medieval towns with a hint of swirly magic.
